The Swimathon is open to businesses, schools, associations, pubs, clubs, family Groups etc. All swimmers must be at least eight years old on the day of the event.
Each team should consist of a maximum of SIX swimmers. In the case of teams with members under the age of 16 years, there must be an ADULT non-swimming captain and each team will be required to swim for 53 minutes. The non-swimming captain (if applicable) must be present at the pool side at all times.
Two lengths of 25 metre pool (one lap) must be swum by each competing team member, in relay fashion, for 53 minutes.
Whilst life-saving cover is provided, team members are reminded that they take part at their own risk.
Each team will be responsible for raising its own sponsorship money which is then divided equally between the chosen charities. The Captain of each team will be responsible for collecting sponsorship funds via the Just Giving page (link to set up is sent on entry form receipt).
Each captain will be advised of the date and time for the team to report to the pool. It will be the responsibility of the captain to inform the team of all relevant details. Teams MUST swim at the time stated by the organisers.
There is no limit to the number of teams that may be entered by an organisation.
Entries are limited to a maximum of 110 teams and will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.
The organisers reserve the right to make such alterations as may be necessary for the efficient organisation of the event.
